The plastic is there to carry the data layer - the shiny metal you can see when you look at the bottom of a disc. Most people know that it is very important to keep the bottom of your discs clean and scratch free. Scratches, fingerprints, and other debris can stop the laser from reading the data.
However, most people don't realize that the tops of discs are just as prone to damage as the bottom - if not more so! Although you can physically see the shiny data layer from the bottom of a CD-R, it is actually applied to the TOP side of the disc, just under the label.
On some CD-Rs, the data layer is under nothing but a thin layer of lacquer. Damage to the top of the disc can destroy the data all together. However, this does not make it immune to damage. Second, it should go without saying but we'll say it anyway that you should never write on or label a double sided DVD - since both sides are read by the laser. Last, some CD-Rs have additional protective layers on the top of the disc, for example those with a " white printable surface.
Obviously, ballpoint or hard tipped pens can scratch the surface of the disc where the data reside, possibly rendering it unplayable. Anything that puts high point-pressure on the surface can damage the delicate layers beneath.
Although this might not happen every time, it would be worth not taking the risk. Here you can select the part of the image that you want to see in the background of CD label creator. CD Label template already contains a background image and four text objects.
To delete any elements, select this object or objects and click the 'Del' key on your keyboard. To insert the text, image, clipart, rectangles or other geometric shapes into the CD label click the text item in the ' Insert ' menu or on the ' Objects ' toolbar.
To place an image or geometric shapes drag the cursor across the document area to specify the right bottom point of the object. To edit the text template, left-click the text object and edit properties such as ' Text ', ' Font ', ' Alignment ', ' Placement ', ' Blending ' in the same ' Properties ' window.

It prints wonderful full-color images using an advanced 6-ink-cartridge system. While most disc printers these days are inkjet printers, Casio uses thermal transfer technology to melt miniscule beads of a waxy, ink-impregnated carrier from its ribbon onto the surface of the disc. The Casio printer includes its own keyboard, or you can plug it into USB and let the computer feed it.
It prints one color at a time and each ribbon is good for roughly discs. Warning: memory failure. Please choose and use at least one. A few days later, you may or may not remember.
A few weeks later, good luck. Today bloggers publish just about gossips and internet and this is really irritating. Printers from Epson, HP, and Canon can print directly onto these special treated discs. But the printing process is very slow, say 2 to 3 minutes per disc, depending on the complexity of the artwork. On top of the line is thermal printing.
Essentially a heat transfer film is applied to the specially treated disc surfaces. This creates a super impressive result. Putting the right label and using the right method is a balance among budget, impression, usage, and lead-time.
