Restaurant is available either at Damai Beach Resort or 10 minute walk away to neighbors compound with nice seafood restaurant with superb sea food. I spend one night with family with 3 rooms. We had a great hari raya gateway at Damai. The kids loved the pool as well as the beach. Pleasent breakfast with local dish. We stayed at Damai Beach Resort to get out of Kuching for a few days. The room was huge, had everything we needed, and we ended up sitting at the hilltop pool most of the day. The only bummer was that our room was one of the "hill view" rooms, which is a bit far from everything else. But, the buffet breakfast included with our reservation and the hilltop pool made up for it.

This is the only maintained public beach you could find here in Kuching. Just 30 minutes from Kuching, under the shade of Mount Santubong, you could take a break from the hectic city and come here to see the bird soaring into the sea. A fun place for family. Having visited the cultural village, we continued across to damai central and it was a nice place, where there are several food stalls and some fancy restaurants.

However, when we headed to the beach there weren't any umbrellas to shade us from the powerful heat so we improvised and sat in the shade of our own umbrellas.
